Wedding, The Battle of Britain, Hats, and Fences

Woke up early on Friday the 29th to watch the Royal Wedding.  I pretty much ignored all the hoopla over the last 6 months leading up to the wedding, so I was able to watch all the pomp and circumstance and enjoy watching the ceremony, and appreciate all the history behind it.
In particular I enjoyed the salute to early times of the RAF during the "fly pass" of the WWII Lancaster bomber and the Spitfire escort:
I felt this was a nice nod to William's current service in the RAF and to all those who went before him.

In a not-so-nice nod to William and Kate were some of the hats - in particular those worn by the Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice.  What were they thinking?  They were attending the wedding of their future king and queen - I would think a little more decorum would be in order.  Even my daughter, who enjoys tattoos and has died her hair colors nature never intended, had enough respect to look nice for my wedding.
I found this photo on Twitter, and it pretty much sums up the over-all impression I got of these royal sisters:

After the wedding stuff was all done, and despite the fact I had been up since 04:30, the missus decided we should get outside and do some work - so we built a fence to keep the dogs out of what will soon be our vegetable garden:
Not a bad morning's work.

Why Am I Here?

I decided to jump on the blogging bandwagon and bore the rest of the world with what is happening in my Life.  I have no idea what I will talk about, or even if I will post anything at all here.

Guess we'll see.

This is a test.  Had this been a real post - well then it wouldn't be a test, would it?
